Los Angeles, CA – June 5th, 2013 – Platinum selling, singer-songwriters, Aly and AJ Michalka have announced their long awaited return to music under the moniker 78Violet with the release of their new single “Hothouse,” and two very special exclusive showcase events to be held at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles on June 26th and The Gramercy Theater in New York on July 9th.   “Hothouse,” produced by David Kahne (Lana Del Rey, Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor, Stevie Nicks), is set for an iTunes release on July 8th and an accompanying music video, self-produced by Aly and AJ under Violet House Productions, will be available online the same date. The Los Angeles and New York showcases will mark the duo’s first two live performances in five years.
