January 15, 2015

Nashville, Tenn–(January 15, 2015)— GRAMMY©, AMA and GMA Dove Award winning group THIRD DAY will release its new forthcoming worship album, LEAD US BACK: SONGS OF WORSHIP on March 3. Both standard and deluxe editions will be available, as the deluxe version will include a bonus disc of eight fan favorite live tracks, captured on the road from previous sold-out performances and two additional previously unreleased studio tracks. From February 11-21, the band will embark on an eight city Australian tour (visit www.ThirdDay.com for dates/venues), and in conjunction with the release date of LEAD US BACK: SONGS OF WORSHIP, the band will have a special live performance at the famed Beacon Theatre in New York City (tickets are on sale now). THIRD DAY’s “SOUL ON FIRE TOUR” will begin on March 5 (dates to be announced for March and April). The debut single from the album titled “Soul On Fire” became the “Most Added” at Christian radio during add week, with 47 stations onboard.

Pre-sale at retail for both the standard and deluxe versions began on December 26, 2014. iTunes’ pre-sale will begin on January 20. The pre-order of the deluxe version of the album will offer fans 11 instant gratification tracks – three from the standard version, and the eight live tracks on the bonus disc.

Says vocalist Mac Powell, “We’ve been wanting to do a worship album for quite a while but have been waiting for the right time. NOW is that time! I believe this is the best batch of songs that we have ever recorded!” Bass player Tai Anderson adds, “LEAD US BACK is a call to worship not just for our audience but the band as well. Why now? We’re ready for these songs. We’re ready to feel God’s spirit fall afresh on all of us again.”

The group’s two previous worship albums, OFFERINGS – A WORSHIP ALBUM in 2000 and OFFERINGS II – ALL I HAVE TO GIVE in 2003, have been the two biggest selling albums of the band’s career to date. “I think the essence of THIRD DAY’s music,” says drummer David Carr, “has always had a thread of worship to it, whether we’ve classified an album as worship or not. Though we are confident in the direction we took on previous albums, we felt it was time for us to revisit the emotion and heart that comes through when the songs are unabashedly directed to God.” Adds guitarist Mark Lee, “We let the songs we’re working on at any given time dictate the direction of our next project and when we started to write more rock tunes and ballads in line with our other albums, we decided to hold off. This time, Mac brought a batch of great songs to the table that all fit together thematically in the worship context, so our intention to make that the focus was there from the start on LEAD US BACK.”

THIRD DAY, comprised of members Mac Powell, Tai Anderson, David Carr and Mark Lee, during the last two decades, has racked up 30 No. 1 radio singles. The band has sold more than 8.5 million albums, including two RIAA 2x Multi Platinum, five Platinum and 12 Gold certifications. A Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee (2009), THIRD DAY has garnered four GRAMMY© Awards (with 11 career nominations), an American Music Award (with four American Music Award nominations), multiple ASCAP honors (including its coveted Vanguard Award for songwriting), and 24 career GMA Dove Awards (from 42 nominations).

Long known as Christian music’s premier live band, the Atlanta-based THIRD DAY has performed for audiences reaching into the millions all around the world. The group has been featured on “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “60 Minutes,” ABC’s “Nightline,” and has been written about in USA Today, the New York Times and Billboard magazine – a cover story which called THIRD DAY “one of the best rock bands, period.”
