Bio
Hailed as “retro nerd-core supreme mother f*ckers,” Nashville-based New Translations features frontman Oliver Pierce, multi-instrumentalists Isaac Middleton and Andres Ahogado, bassist/producer Ben Dunn, and drummer Philip Walker.
With a reputation for their vibe-heavy, anthemic synth-rock sound, the band has
earned high praise for its live show, including from Nashville’s Mike Grimes (owner of Grimey’s Records & The Basement East), who called them “the next big thing out of Nashville.”
Tuned Up exclaimed, “We truly haven’t seen a show with so much personality in ages.”
In 2022, the band toured extensively, including 50+ headlining shows & support dates with bands The Districts, Stephen Sanchez, The Brummies, The Unlikely Candidates, and many others.
2023 marks the start of an exciting next chapter with the release of their new single, “Potions,” their most expansive musical creation to date.
Frontman Oliver Pierce says, “What came out feels like something that could be shouted from atop a table at 3 AM.
It’s an acknowledgment of our nightly sins; and a celebration of them, in a way, as that is what makes us human at the end of the day.”
The synth-driven track pushes their sonic boundaries, teasing a fresh creative direction as they work on completing their debut album.
