Cat Clyde Returns with Mud Blood Bone via Concord Records
March 17, 2026
Canadian alt-folk artist Cat Clyde returns today with her fourth LP Mud Blood Bone via Concord Records. Produced with Drew Vandenberg (Faye Webster, S.G. Goodman) and including a co-write with Courtney Marie Andrews, the 11-song set exudes nomadic independence: penned in Clyde’s 1973 Boler trailer on a farm in Ontario, on a narrow boat in England, and in transit between festivals, letting lyrics stream freely from a jetlagged dream state. The result is uninhibited, raw, and pure. Throughout, Clyde looks to her indigenous Métis roots and invokes a deep reverence for nature in an effort to redefine her relationship with love. It’s a trudge through the swamp and into vast, cleansing waters that finds her at a critical point of personal evolution — equal parts despair, invocation, discovery, and celebration. No Depression notes, “Carried by her insightful songwriting and powerful voice that feels both timeless and urgent, Mud Blood Bone is virtually a concept album, exploring the aftermath of a failed romance from different perspectives.”
Already garnering critical acclaim, Mud Blood Bone is highlighted as one of today’s most notable releases by NPR Music and OurCulture. Glide Magazine praises, “What makes Mud Blood Bone resonate is the way Clyde pairs universal themes with songwriting that feels disarmingly personal…It’s a record that lingers long after the final notes fade and is destined to be listened to again and again.” KLOF Mag adds, “Mud Blood Bone crackles with urgency even as Cat bares her soul. It is her most personal record yet and also her most electrifying, a pulse‑quickening rush, wrapped in confession.”
Ahead of release, Clyde shared album singles “Another Time” and “Man’s World” with a final preview arriving earlier this week: a stirring cover of “My Love” that melds “the swaying country western croon of [Marty] Robbins’ original with Clyde’s swirl of blues, folk, and rockabilly” (Under the Radar). Clash Magazine says, “In her hands it travels in a different direction, the vocal displaying an enormous degree of empathy. A song less about passion and relationships and more about the qualities of love we can find in our everyday lives, Cat truly makes ‘My Love’ her own.”
Clyde will perform across the U.S. and Canada in celebration of the new release, including an appearance at Treefort Music Fest on March 26, in addition to stops at Red Wing Roots and Winnipeg Folk Festival this summer. The upcoming shows follow Clyde’s inclusion on the coveted 2026 Live List of “rising, must-see artists” from The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA). Please see below for full tour details.
