DAY-TO-DAY MANAGER (LA)

Reporting to senior management, the Day-to-Day Manager will be main point of contact between artist and their wider team, overseeing the daily business of artist’s career. We are looking for an experienced day-to-day manager to work with an established artist.

  • Must have experience working with high profile artists in the electronic music space and be passionate about the genre. Minimum 10+ years in a day-to-day or management or similar role.
  • Must have experience working on major releases, merchandise campaigns and marketing/coordinating/advancing large scale tours and festivals.
  • This role requires exceptional attention to detail, the highest level of communication, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and most importantly, the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Seeking someone who is always ”one step ahead” and can handle a full slate of projects and maintain organization at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel

Qualified candidates should meet the following criteria:

Responsibilities / Job functions:

  • Act as point of contact for artist, checking in daily, handling requests promptly, running meetings, filtering information, and coordinating with the wider team.
  • Regularly report to senior management, providing updates on current activities, goals, and task lists. This includes digital analytics, music consumption, ticket sales, merchandise sales, press reports, etc.
  • Act as key point of contact for internal and external team members, including booking agents, touring team, digital team, merchandise companies, record labels and distributors, publicists, business managers, lawyers, etc. Provide regular updates on artist plans and progress.
  • Manage artist schedule across all business areas.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables for projects across all business areas.
  • Ensure touring calendar kept updated with artist availability, confirmed dates, potential dates.
  • Liaise with tour manager and crew on tour logistics including schedule, transportation, production equipment, merchandise, etc.
  • Liaise with tour marketing on tour planning, asset development, announce/on sale rollout, promotional partners, and VIP programs.
  • Collaborate with record label/distributor on new release campaigns and ongoing maintenance of prior releases.
  • Work with digital team to execute marketing programs and optimize artist’s online presence, utilizing metrics to inform strategy.
  • General administration such as maintaining files and database, executing and tracking contracts, tracking budgets, responding to emails, scheduling meetings and calls, making travel arrangements, etc.

Salary Range: 90-165k

Artist Marketing & Content Creation Manager (Los Angeles)

Silverback Music and Red Light Management are looking for an experienced project manager and content creator to report to senior managers for an established music roster.

  • Knowledge and a passion for music of all genres particularly alternative and reggae.
  • Graphic design, video editing, project management, and social media experience.
  • Must have experience working with labels on music releases and coordinating tour marketing.
  • Experience working with high profile artists. Minimum 3+ years in a similar role, at a music management company or label.
  • This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position is full-time and based out of Los Angeles, CA but open to remote work.

RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Creative Project Management
    • Coordinate with illustrators, designers, animators and video editors to create high quality digital content, show posters, tour art, merch designs, album covers, etc.
  • Graphic Design & Content Creation
    • Work to create visually appealing graphics and videos for use on social media, tour assets, music releases, merch, etc.
  • Merchandise
    • Coordinate with artist merchandise companies
    • Manage e-commerce stores, help to create tour merch lines, review and analyze sales and inventory
  • Label Marketing & Music Delivery
    • Create and implement strategic digital plans for releases across Silverback Music’s roster
    • Familiarity with metadata management, DSP pitches, working with distributors and releasing new music
  • Social Media Management
    • Execute social plans and roll out strategy to drive engagement goals
    • Manage weekly social media post schedules across various platforms and accounts
  • Street Team Management
    • Communicate with artists fanbase, online and street promo coordination
    • Coordinate with show promoters
  • Digital Management
    • Update websites, build email newsletters, interface with third party digital marketing companies
  • Team Management
    • Schedule calls, meetings, and conference calls between multiple parties
    • Communicate efficiently daily with rest of team
    • Create and maintain spreadsheets, organize Dropbox, update Google Drive
    • Participate, contribute, and brainstorm in meetings. Create meeting agendas & circulate meeting notes

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Graphic design and video editing skills to create ongoing content for marketing assets and materials
  • Creative and forward-thinking marketing ideas

Director or Sr. Director, Artist Brand Manager (Nashville)

Position Summary:

This position requires creativity and a passion for executing forward-thinking marketing ideas. You will be tasked with coming up with, producing and coordinating the successful execution of marketing initiatives across all potential areas, involving and working with external partners where necessary.  Success in this position requires both an appreciation for data & analytics as much as a burning desire to rip up the rule book and craft ‘out of the box’ activations that drive artist’s campaigns forward.  This fast-paced job is fueled by creativity, innovation, ambition, organization, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Regularly direct artist meetings and be engaged with manager teams on a daily basis to craft and ensure timelines and developments in all areas
  • Work with internal digital/data analytics teams to develop an in-depth understanding of an artist’s audience & genre communities, researching and analyzing what has and hasn’t been successful for other campaigns in similar spaces
  • Take on full ownership & responsibility for fleshing out, executing and reporting on approved initiatives
  • Communicate and work closely with artists, managers, labels, agents, and promoters to ensure seamless execution of marketing campaigns and overall brand/messaging cohesion
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technology and provide updates to internal team and clients

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • Proven track record of creating and driving innovative marketing campaigns and activations for industry-renowned artists
  • Knowledge and passion for a broad and diverse range of musical genres including but not limited to Americana, Rock, Indie, Country
  • Knowledge of headline touring strategies
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and with other team members. A go getting / can do- attitude!

Applicants should have an interest in learning more about the music industry through both hands on experience, as well as experiencing a variety of virtual seminars featuring managers, employees and other music industry professionals. We will focus on management, tour marketing, publicity, digital promotion, graphic design, radio promo, and merchandising.

This internship is for current undergrad students only. Internships are offers in person in Charlottesville, VA, Nashville, TN, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA or Remote (CA, CO, CT, GA, IL, KS, LA, MA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WY)

Internships are paid an hourly rate based on location. Hours: approximately 10-15 per week during normal business hours.

If you need school credit we’re happy to work with you, but it is not required.

Experience with Office / Google Docs is a must and some and graphic design knowledge is a plus. Specifically, we are looking for dedicated, hard working, high energy individuals, not afraid to take initiative.
