TIËSTO TO DEBUT FIRST IN A SERIES OF POP-UPS, TIËSTO MIAMI, DURING MIAMI MUSIC WEEK
March 17, 2017
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FANCY.COM
LAUNCH PARTY PRESENTED BY T-MOBILE
(New York, NY – March 16, 2017) Today, Grammy Award-winning DJ/producer Tiësto announced the concept for his first ever pop-up shop, which will coincide with Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week. The installation, which officially opens to the public on March 23, is a product of the DJ’s partnership with global online marketplace and pop-up pros FANCY.com and will feature limited edition Tiësto apparel and specialty luxury goods handpicked by the dance music icon. In addition to daily retail hours, the space will host exclusive events at night.
The significance of Miami as the first of several locations to house Tiësto pop-up shops in 2017 speaks to the city’s storied history of fomenting the evolution and growth of dance music. Much like the location-specific compilations of Tiësto’s discography, these pop-ups will be aligned with cities of great personal importance to the artist, as well as to the genre itself.
In creating a physical space to complement the energy and fun of the week’s events and partnering with some of the most exciting emerging brands on the market, Tiësto has lent his curatorial touch to every feature of the shop. The design of the space is a nod to the culture of dance music, which manages to celebrate the intersection of art, travel and technology. From of-the-moment sunglasses from Westward Leaning to the ingenius anti-theft backpack from XD Design to the elevated basics from Grand AC, the shop promises something for everyone.
The consummate tastemaker, Tiësto has commissioned renowned Miami street artists to tag public spaces around the city, putting their artistic license to full use as they customize the legend’s revamped logo in their signature styles. Florida graffiti icon Atomik and Red Bull collaborator GG Gimenez will contribute murals in Wynwood and Miami Beach, as will Brian Butler of Upper Hand Art as he live tags a bespoke piece during the shop’s inaugural event.
Programming will kick off with the Tiësto Miami Launch Party, presented by T-Mobile, on March 22. The invite-only reception marks the official open of the pop-up and simultaneously launches a full week of activations and contesting hosted by the DJ. A select number of fans will be given the opportunity to win tickets to the event through contests run on Tiësto and T-Mobile social platforms. The event will feature engaging activities, including an interactive GIF station from T-Mobile, allowing attendees to enjoy music and entertainment the way it should be – unlimited and untamed.
With many surprises in store for fans throughout the week, Tiësto’s presence in Miami will culminate in his headlining performance at Ultra. Just last Friday (March 10), DJ/producer EDX released his timely Miami Sunset remix of Tiësto’s first major release of the year, “On My Way” and the fresh rebrand of Tiësto’s original imprint, Musical Freedom, was unveiled. In tandem with the recent launch of a new website and webstore, Tiësto Miami is the latest in a string of announcements that promise a dynamic year for the dance music legend.
